KKU President Sponsors “Forestation” Event ,Coinciding with the World Environment Day
His Excellency King Khalid University President Prof. Dr. Faleh bin Rajaa Al-Solami, sponsored the “Foresting 2021” event, which was organized by Prince Sultan Environmental ,Tourism and Research center and the university agency for projects .
Al-Salami stressed the importance of the afforestation, care and sustainability of the environment, stressing that the “Foresting 2021” event comes as part of the university’s efforts to celebrate the World Environment Day 2021, which is held this year under the slogan “Restoring the Ecosystem.”
The Director of the Prince Sultan Center for Research, Environmental and Tourism Studies, Dr. Rahma Al-Shahrani, explained that the center is keen on celebrating world events, pointing that the event aims to cultivate a number of university open areas starting with the university new campus.
It’s worth noting that the center is keen to plant trees and plants from the origins of the Asiri environment, commensurate with the conditions and atmosphere of the region, the trees included jacaranda tree, the poplar, in addition to the ficus.
