King Khalid University ranked 301 globally in the Times Higher Education Impact Ranking. This classification evaluates the performance of universities according to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which aim to achieve 17 goals.

His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaa Al-Solami, emphasized the fact that the university aspires to be among the top 200 universities worldwide by the year 2030. He also extended his thanks to the university’s agency for Quality and Development, the International Classifications Unit, and all entities contributing to this success.

The Vice president of Quality and Development Dr. Marzan Al-Shahrani, said that the university’s escalation in the Times international classifications is evidence of its performance within international standards in the field of higher education, which aligns with Vision 2030 and achieving sustainable development goals, thus, improving the quality of life. Al-Shahani thanked the President of the University, and the supervisor of the International Classifications Unit, Dr. Sami Al-Shehri, for their efforts.

It is worth noting that this year is the third year to include this type of classification in the Times classification. In this regard, the university was able to take a leap by surpassing 300 ranks compared to last year's position in this classification and becoming among the top 200 universities worldwide in two major goals, which are: good health and clean energy.

It’s also worth mentioning that the indicators are calculated depending on balanced comparisons in 3 fields, including the search for new solutions related to sustainable development goals, direct communication with society, the country, and the world, as well as management/supervision of the university's consumption and sustainability.
