KKU ranks 601 globally and 4 locally in the "Times Higher Education Impact Ranking". This classification evaluates the performance of universities according to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), which are 17 goals. The indicators are calculated depending on balanced comparisons in 3 felids, which are:

Research: through the search for new solutions related to sustainable development goals.

Outreach: through direct work with society, the country, and the world.

Stewardship: through the management/supervision of the university's consumption and sustainability

It is worth noting that this year is the second year to include this type of classification in the Times classification. In this respect, the final results released 5 Saudi universities including 4 public universities and one private.

The Vice president of Quality and Development Dr. MarzanAl-Shahrani, said that the university’s escalation in the Times international classifications is evidence of its performance within international standards in the field of higher education. He also said that all this success and achievements in various classifications reflect the progress of the university, which will improve the university chance to accommodate the requirements of the labour market locally and globally.

Al-Shahrani thanked His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaa Al-Solami, for his constant support. He also thanked all university entities for their efforts towards the university's success in  various classifications. He extended his appreciation towards the International Classifications Unit for its efforts and its supervisor, Dr. Sami Al-Shehri.
