Under the auspices of King Khalid University President, Prof. Abdulrahman Hamad Aldawood, the Saudi Pharmaceutical Society opened "Asir pharmacists" club in Abha Palace Hotel. It is arranged the College of Pharmacy at King Khalid University will be the Headquarter of the Club, which falls under the umbrella of the Saudi Pharmaceutical Society - SPS.
Those who thought of the idea of opening the club hope it will contribute to the development of capabilities and skills of pharmacists and hospitals, through education, in addition to organizing lectures and seminars, which will help pharmacists to move forward in their profession in accordance with the international standards of pharmaceutical care. Moreover, the club is committed to its duty towards society through raising awareness and educating the pharmacists in the practical fields. During the opening ceremony, the names of the candidates for the club board membership were announced, in the presence of a number of important dignitiries including the members of the Saudi Pharmaceutical Society, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. Adel Al Hazzani, Vice - President, Dr. Mohammed Alqtherda, Heads of Departments, faculty members, and a number of pharmacists in the region and students of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
Afterwards, results of voting were announced as follows: Dr. Abdulrahman Al Sayari was elected president of the Pharmacy Club. Othe members were the following pharmacist: Abdullah Al-Sheikh, Abdullah Abdul Aziz Houdrm, Belqais Saleh al-Ghamdi, Mansoor Saeed Abdul Al Qahtani, Saeed Falah Ali al-Qahtani and Mansour Sayyaf Al-Shahrani.
On his part, a member of the Board of Directors, who is also the regional Chairman of the Membership Committee, Colonel pilot Abdullah Al-Zahrani reported that elections for Asir pharmacists Club was conducted under the umbrella of Saudi Pharmaceutical Society. He added that the idea was born eight months ago, with serious desire from pharmacists in the Asir Province. He said, "The Saudi Pharmaceutical Society took the request seriously, hence announcement for Candidates was made, then followed by the electronic voting and ballot counting by the election Committee, which I had the honor to be its president". The results of the election were scheduled to be announced on the career Day, which is currently being held in King Khalid University. "He added, "Praise be to God, the meeting was successfully held. It began with a lecture in which I demonstrated the general regulations of scientific clubs workflow. After that, there was a reviewing for election processes followed by the announcement of the results. Attendance was remarkable, where those in attendance witnessed the declaration of the winners of the Board of Directors. Winners were congratulated with prayers for blessing, as well as wishes for them to succeed."
