King Khalid University Scout Clans Club is participating in the public service of pilgrims Camp, which is organized by the Saudi Arabia Scouts Association. The program will run from 1 to 14 of Dhu-AlHijjah 1435 AH. The Club is participating with 48 persons distributed on three scout teams, to join the more than 3,000 Scouts and wanderers to fulfill this great task of helping the pilgrims in general, and or those of them who may be in need in particular, such as guiding those lost.
On this important assignment, the Dean of Student Affairs at University of King Khalid, Dr. Merra Bin Saeed Al-Habash explained that the purpose of participation is to serve the pilgrims and to further prove the university's role in community service. Al- Habash explained further that members of the club, during the period of their participation, will cover the Holy spots in Arafat for 7 days, so that they will be familiar with, and be able to recognize easily the Holy Spots, the borders, the distribution of the campaigns there, how to read maps, the easy ways to guide the lost pilgrims and the ways to deal with lost persons. All these will start from the time of arrival of the pilgrims to the Holy spots on 8th until the end of Al-Tashreek days. Participants will be posted to guiding centers that are spread over the Holy Spots and frequented by lost pilgrims to get necessary guidance. Al-Habash concluded by saying that "This year, the Headquarter of the camp, during the survey and guidance period, will be, by the Grace of God, in Mount Arafat."
