Students' Rights Union at the Deanship of Student Affairs of King Khalid University continues performing its functions of checking students' (males and females) rights, in an attempt to addresses, in a systematic manner, any identified violation of their rights, through the academic administrative channels provided.

Earlier, the Deanship has formed a Student Committee in all colleges, through which a student can submit his or her complaint with all documents to prove his right. The Committee then gives the student an acknowledgement note, stating that the complaint received is in progress, and has been forwarded to the next channel for action, after which the student will receive a notification of what has been proceeded upon regarding his / her complaint within a period of 15 Days from the date of filing the complaint.

The student may appeal the decision of the Student Committee within 15 days from the date the decision was announced, but in the case of non-acceptance of the Committee's decision, the student must submit a written letter of complaint to the deanship of Students Affairs, attaching the receipt he / she got from the Student's Rights Committee.

After that, the complaint will be reviewed, and a final decision will be taken. The final decision taken by the Student's Rights Committee will be valid and biding only after the University President's approval. In case the complaint is found to be malicious, the University has the right to take action in accordance with the university rules and regulations..

In this regard, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Merra Al-Habash has stated that the union is responsible for protecting the student's rights. He said, "Some students find arbitrariness in decisions taken against them by some Deans or faculty members, and or even by staff. In such a situation comes the role of the union in standing with, and supporting the student by submitting documents to prove his / her right has been infringed by a decision. He continued, "This union is an integrated team consisting of a specialist lawyer from the Faculty of Sharia, as well as a number of experts in the fields of psychology and sociology in order to protect the student's rights."
