Library Affairs of King Khalid University (KKU):

Success moments with the Saudi Library database;

160,000 books, 5,000 borrowings.

The Deanship of Library Affairs of King Khalid University has enabled students, teaching staff and researchers - male and female - to benefit from the content of the Saudi Digital Library database (SDL), which contains 59 key databases, and 300 sub-databases. Already, the library has approximately 168, 518 books, with borrowing of books within only one year reaching more than 5427 books.

Regarding publications, the library has published several scientific articles via its databases such as the periodical ones, which exceeded 73,413 periodicals, 1,785 Arabic magazine, in addition to 15 dissertation in Arabic, 3 million dissertation in English, 44,473 books in Arabic, and 198,117 books in English. Moreover, the total number of researches, and registered English conferences papers reached 8.83049 million, with 2,000 researches and Arabic conferences papers. Media estimate stands as more than 2,800,000, with 6,500 3D images, more than 2 million images, and more than 2,100 video.

Earlier, the Dean of University Libraries Affairs of KKU, Dr. Saeed Al-Khalidi has stated that the support the Deanship received from His Excellency the University President Prof. Abdul Rahman Bin Hamad Al Dawoud has boosted and improved the quality that the library reached in terms of equipment, and the speed of obtaining information.

Al-Khalidi stated that a competition titled - 'Modern Electronic library Project' will be set for the sake of development, so that the library continues its relentless quest to reach global standards in the field of modern electronic libraries. Adding that the library is currently working on arranging its central and subsidiary halls, as well as equipping the medical library, based on the establishment approval that the Deanship received from the President of the University. Hence, it will be easier for the students of the Medical Colleges, as well as researches to access the contents of the library.
