King Khalid University, Media Center

Limits of talking between the sexes in social networking sites in work and study purposes, but without excess), this was the viewpoint and demands of a number of female students from King Khalid University, after the outbreak of the phenomenon of chatting between the sexes across social networking sites. They also asserted that girls should watch themselves and be careful to prevent excesses that may be ominous.

In this regard, Professor Assistant of Jurisprudence at the Faculty of Arts, Department of Islamic Studies at the University, Dr. Sultana Al-Mushayqih, explained that women may need to talk with men, but it must be within narrow limits and rationale, acceptable reasons, and an urgent need such as work that sometimes needs clarification for the public interest. She said, "Talk between the two sexes is originally permissible, but with a commitment to the guidance of the Lord in the verses of Al-Ahzab.

Al-Mushayqih explained that talking just for talking without reason, nor interest in religion, nor life, I do not think it is permissible because of what it may drag on both sides of evil, and opens the doors of infatuation and evil. She said, "How much we heard and read stories, that are shameful, and unfortunately, the beginning was just a simple talk via social networks or whatever, but unluckily there was a tragic end."

During her speech, Al-Mushayqih asked for self-monitoring, and control of God in addition to the role of parents and close guidance and advice through numerous channels of persuasion, with a move away from depending on the means of repression or threat because these methods may do more harm than good.

In this regard, A Master student at the University, Hanan Al-Shehri reported that she does not favor at all talking between the two sexes through social networks because of the affliction, and the many dark entrances that could hurt both parties.
