3330 students participated in the 14th summer program for the talented and the creative.
The 14th Summer Enrichment Program for Talented conducted at King Khalid University (KKU) was concluded last week. It was organized by King Abdullah and his Companions Foundation for the Gifted and the Creative. It was held from 10th to 28th of Shaaban 1435 AH..
The Director of talent and creativity center in university, who is also and the president of summer Talent Program, Dr.Dhafer Bin Saeed Al Hammad, highlighted on the center's leading role in helping the Gifted young and making them into men. He informed that this year's activity was conducted in 60 different programs, in which 3330 students and 37 bodies participated .
Al-Hammad added that the university used all its potentials and facilities to contribute in the success of all the programs. He explained that the number of participants in medical, technological, biological and engineering programs reached 61 from both genders. He said "The participants were divided into groups to work in laboratories and research projects, through a variety of scientific programs to attempt to explain some biological, physical, chemical, and medical phenomena and their scientific applications". The program also included the establishment of several specialized workshops by a number of professional researchers.
Al Hammad further, stated that the programs included sport activities, different social activities, field visits, meetings, trips, academic competitions, and guided tour to a number of tourist sites in the region. All these activities were aimed at developing the different skills of outstanding students, and the need of directing these outstanding skills towards the priority needs for general societal development.
On the part of the participants, a student, Yusef Al Menhi, praised his program mates and appreciated their eagerness to take advantage of what the program had offered. He said, "I thank King Khalid University, which showed keen interest and provided suitable environment for conducting this program".
