The Prince of Asir sponsors today, 15/07/1435AH, an agreement

between King Khalid University and the General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities

On Wednesday, 15/07/1435AH, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Bin Khalid Bin Abdul Aziz, the Governor of Asir region sponsors signing a cooperation agreement between King Khalid University and the General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities. The Authority for Tourism and Antiquities is represented by its Chairman, His Royal Highness Prince Sultan Bin Salman Bin Abdul Aziz. King Khalid University is represented by its President, His Excellency Prof. Abdul Rahman Bin Hamad Al-Dawood. The agreement comes as part of the initiative, Asir... a Main Touristic Destination around the year.

In this regard, the President of King Khalid University expressed his happiness with the agreement, which would support the field of tourism in Asir. He said, "Mainly, the agreement is for the sake of the region, in terms of human resource development, and integration in the development of national, human, and touristic resources."

He explained that the agreement comes to prepare touristic training programs, in addition to making necessary researches and studies, and organizing conferences and forums that support educational tourism, and exchange experiences between the two parties in a number of areas.

Al-Dawood confirmed that King Khalid University will harness all its capabilities to serve the nation in general, and Asir region in particular by supporting tourism, which is one of the advantages of this region. He said, "One of the terms of the agreement is to cooperate in the field of products and touristic programs, such as organizing events and activities that have a positive impact on touristic attraction in the area."

In this regard, the Dean of the Institute of Research and Councilling and Strategic Studies at the University, Dr. Abdullatif Bin Ibrahim Al-Hedithi clarified that the agreement will continue for two years, and will be renewed automatically. He added that the agreement provides a joint team for the supervision and guidance acting as coordination between the two sides and approves the content of each program.
