The President of King Khalid University (KKU), Prof. Dr. Falah bin Raja Allah Al Solamy, has visited the central auditorium building and Media Center Administration as well as Afaq Newspaper on this last Wednesday. His Excellency the Ptesident asked for necessary expansion needed by the media center to be a training center for students of media and communications department, in the light the of new functions entrusted to the center. During the inspection visit, His Excellency the President was accompanied by His Excellency the designate Vice President of KKU, Dr. Khalid Al Jalban, and number of university officials. At the site of the visit, the President was received by the supervisor of the Media Center and Afaq newspaper, Prof. Dr. Ali bin Shuweil Al Qarni, and the Director of the Media Centre, Mr. Sultan Audh, who in turn have given an explanation about the center and its functions, and its services, in addition to its needs. Then, His Excellency the President of KKU and the accompanying delegation were shown the mechanism of work and all entrusted tasks. Furthermore, the visitors took a tour of the center facilities that are currently available. His Excellency President Al Solamy also has been briefed during the tour to the central auditorium on its available services. In turn, he has directed for the rehabilitation of the auditorium to suit the needs of the university when organizing conferences. At the end of the tour, the visitors visited the headquarters of Afaq newspaper and saw the sections, and wete briefed on working mechanism at the place. In this regard, President Al Solamy stressed on the need for the participation of women in the newspaper and the activation of the roles of female faculty members and student. He also expressed his happiness of what he had seen and touched from development and advancement of the university in the field of media, praising the efforts of the Media Center employees and Afaq newspaper on their proper coverage and highlighting of the university events to the community.
