The Deanship of Library Affairs at King Khalid University (KKU) accomplished - during the last two years - 11 sub-libraries of the university colleges in Abha, and in the provinces of Asir Region. The libraries were founded and equipped in terms of full furnishing; like bookshelves, desks, and floor mats, and the supply of books and other required references by the colleges, which serve their specialties, and the technical procedure processes in terms of indexing, classification and shelving, to become part of the researches group in the united university libraries index.

The Dean of Library Affairs, Dr. Saeed Bin Qasim Al Khalidi, has explained that all of that was achieved by specialists from employees of the Deanship of Library Affairs. Dr. Ak Khalidi said: “the work began by setting up of sub libraries in Abha as the library of the graduate students Center in Al Aassan in Abha, which contain 30,054 books, and the library of Science College for Girls, in Abha which contains 12,658 books."

Dr. Al Khalidi clarified that after that it had been moved to the sub libraries outside Abha, where the library of Science and Arts College for Boys in Tanumah province was completed, containing 3016 books, so also the library of the Science and Arts College for girls in Dhahran South which was completed and which contains 3,090 books. There is also the library of Science and Arts College for boys in Dhahran South which was completed, and which contains 2,883 books. The library of Science and Arts College in Sarat Obeida, was also completed and it contains 2,781 books, while the library of Science and Arts College for Girls in Mahail Asir was completed, and it contains 9,132 books. In addition, the library of Community College, and Science and Arts College for Boys in Mahayl Asir was completed, and has a total of 6,309 books, as well as the library of the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences in Mahail Asir, which was completed, and which contains 2,595 books. Other completed libraries include the library of Community College and Science and Arts College, in Rejal Almaa, where there is a a total of 3,570 books, and the Library of the College of Science and Arts in Majaridah, which contains 5,237 books.

Dr.Al Khalidi thanked the Rector of King Khalid University, Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Dawood, for his continuous support to the Deanship of Library Affairs, because of his belief in the importance of books in the scientific and cognitive endeavors of the university students. He also praised the distinguished efforts made by the team at the Deanship of Library Affairs, in order to create these libraries, and who performed all the technical work, hoping for more books to be provided to the libraries to enable them to perform their mission.
It is worth mentioning that 23 central and sub-libraries are related to the Deanship. They are supplied with new books and references, so also to 11 libraries which were established from zero.
