President receives Head of General Education Evaluation Commission.

His Excellency, the President of King Khalid University (KKU), Prof. Abdulrahman Bin Hamad Al dawood yesterday received in his office the Head of General Education Evaluation Commission, Dr. Naif Alromi, and his assistant, Dr. Kholood Ashkar, in the presence of the University Vice - Presidents and Deans. The purpose of the visit was to brief the President on the tasks of the Commission, in addition to discussing means of cooperation between the two entities. At the beginning of the meeting, President Al dawood welcomed the visitors, giving them a glimpse on the university. He said, "In King Khalid University, we encourage such meetings and all occasions that can elaborate the level of education in our dear Kingdom."

For his part, the Head of General Education Evaluation Commission, thanked the University President for the generous hospitality accorded him and his team. Then, he gave an introduction about the Commission, its missions, and its goals. He said, "We believe that we are not alone in developing education process; we share responsibility with other entities. So, most of our projects are governed by beneficiaries, not by the commission." Alromi further pointed out that "Our role is not controlling, rather it is cooperative and assistive in developmental processes." He also emphasized that the Commission had a direct conjunction to leadership, and it aims at raising the quality of education, and at supporting the national economy.

In turn, Dr. Kholood Ashkar presented a detailed explanation about the reason for creating a Saudi frame to qualifications. She pointed out, "We look forward to creating highly qualified Saudi cadres, who will be able to shoulder responsibilities. We aim to bring educational outcomes that are relevant to the needs of labor market, in addition to developing gulf qualifications and upgrading the Saudi frame to cope up with international and local standards." She talked about the benefits of the programs of the Commission towards the students, such as making it possible to acknowledge all qualifications regardless age. Regarding attracting Saudi cadres, she added, "They will feel comfortable when their qualification could be accredited and approved.”

In conclusion, President Al dawood stated that the University was willing to host and even organize any activity the Commission recommends in the southern region, or even in the whole Kingdom. He said, "Looking forward to your Excellency's demand to cooperate with the University." He added, "We would like to be the first among the Saudi Universities."
