University celebrates with more than 150 children on the Global Day for the children.

Within the celebration of the first child Forum, the King Khalid University (KKU), represented by the College of Management and Home Economics in Abha, yesterday celebrated with more than 150 children. The event was under the slogan "Tomorrow's generation nutrition". The Celebration also coincided with the Global Day for the children, and was witnessed with the attendance of the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Nada Al-Hazani as well as by the participation of Faculty Seventh level students.

The festival included several entertainment and awareness sections for children. In addition, the festival included setting up an awareness exhibition for mothers. The exhibition contained several corners for diabetes and obesity in children, as well as healthy food corner, the length and weight of the child, food pyramid, and a corner for ice cream, a corner for lunch box, and personal hygiene of the child.

In turn, the coordinator of the celebration, the Assistant Professor of Clinical Nutrition at the Faculty of Management and Economics, Dr. Heba Ghmri asserted that the meeting aimed at promoting awareness of important behaviors, and correct eating habits through taking awareness lectures directed to children and mothers, to raise the level of awareness and nutrition behavior they have. She said, "The forum dealt with the issue of child nutrition since it concerns all mothers, with different educational and cultural level. In addition, the meeting dealt with the importance of nutrition and its impact on the physical and intellectual growth of the child." She added, "We were conscious to invite orphan children from "Parents Association". The purpose was to let them enjoy the entertaining sections, and to spend a great funny day, in the company of other children."
