The King Khalid University has participated in the Supervisory and Executive committees of the "Aseer: a main touristic destination all over the year". In this initiative, the university has been represented by the Dean of Research and Advisory Studies Institute, Dr. Abdul Latif Ibrahim Sabri.

Dr. Sabri said that the initiative was presented by His Highness the Governor of Asir region, Prince Faisal bin Khalid, who is also the Chairman of the Tourism Development Council, in addition to His Highness the President of the General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities, Prince Sultan bin Salman. Furthermore, the initiative indicated that the officials have strong belief that Aseer Province is capable of achieving a sort of sustainable tourism, and is able to compete throughout the year.
