King Khalid University, Media Center

His Excellency King Khalid University President, Prof. Abdulrahman Hamad Aldawood inspected yesterday evening (8/2/2015 AD) the University Center for Graduate Studies (for Girls) in Lassan. The inspection visit came after the restoration and renovation of a number of buildings and halls at the center, done in order to improve the educational environment there, and to keep abreast with modern developments, due to the increasing numbers of those who enroll in the programs provided by the Center. The Center's programs which are estimated at about 50 in number, in both doctoral and masters stages, are attended by 2,500 students. Most of the students are in the women's section. Their number reached 1,300 students, in addition to a large number of grants students from various countries around the world.

Restoration and development works included the development of a number of buildings and their appendixes, in addition to the renewal of the discussion rooms for men and women. Others include building a special lounge for admission and registration. Moreover the changes included changing and developing a number of the employees of the Center's offices, and building a special section for women in the mosque, which can accommodate more than 170 persons.

At the conclusion of the visit, President Aldawood thanked the Dean of Graduate Studies Dr. Ali Al-Shahrani and the stakeholders of the Deanship saying, "We have noticed great efforts and developments in the buildings, which could be a model we all cherish. Definitely the work is worthy of our honored University. We are expecting more and more, God willing." Prof. Aldawood also pointed out that when he started taking the responsibility of the university, there were only 400 Graduate Studies students. But the number has grown now to reach 2,500 students. He said "The University accommodates more than this number compared to other universities, which have less capability than our university." At the end of his tour, the University President asked all officials not to hesitate to ask for any support for the development of the educational processes at the university.
