University to display its experience of "Cultural Olympiad".

Under the patronage of the University of Tabuk President, Dr Abdul Aziz Saud Alanzi, King Khalid University, represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs, participated in the first forum of Student affairs Deans of the universities in the Kingdom. The forum, under the slogan "Student Affairs.. Successful and mutual experiences" began on 29/2/1436 AH, and ended on 2/3/1436 AH. The venue of the forum was at the Deanship of Student Affairs, in Tabuk University.
King Khalid University has participated in the forum with a worksheet under the title "Cultural Olympiad", in which Student Affairs Deanship reviewed the successful experience in organizing the first Cultural Olympiad under the slogan "Innovators Race" to the students of the university. This is a pointer to King Khalid University's (KKU) belief in its role of discovering and introducing different talents to be developed and highlighted in an atmosphere of competition and challenge. It is noteworthy that talents of the KKU students were shown through participation in 16 different areas: thus, in the Holy Quran, Sunnah, cultural competition, in addition to recitation, operetta recitational, Poetry, classic poetry, eloquent poetry, Arabian Peninsula poetry as well as documentaries. Others are in Plastic and cartoon drawing, photography, digital art "designs" and, finally, calligraphy and community service.
Participation in the different areas revealed apreciable number of talents, which appeared for the first time to the public. In the same regard, the Vice - President of Student Affairs Deanship for Student Activities at the University, Dr. Nasser Al Gomishan explained that the university offered its experience in the Cultural Olympiad, which was met with a great reaction from the audience, who showed their admiration for the idea. Most of the audience demanded the expansion of the idea over the Saudi universities, adopting same procedures that were applied in the university.
Moreover, the forum has witnessed distributing CDs on the Deans of Student Affairs, which contained all the terms of the idea, so as to facilitate the dissemination of the experience to the Saudi Universities. The forum also presented future projects and discussed deanships' projects, in addition to organizing a tour to the city of Tabuk to visit its most prominent landmarks.
At last, there was a seminar entitled "Student Affairs between reality and desired", followed by the closing ceremony of the forum. It is noteworthy that the forum aimed at expanding the exchange of successful experiences in the area of student activities and services in Saudi universities, in order to enhance communication links between the cadres of Student Affairs Deanships in the Kingdom, and improve the services and programs offered by these deanships.
