King Khalid University Launches "Wiqad" Initiative to Support Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence

King Khalid University, represented by the Deanship of Electronic Services, has launched the "Wiqad" initiative as part of its active participation in the "Ajawid 3" and "Mubadron 6" initiatives, which aim to enhance technological innovation and social responsibility.

The initiative focuses on raising awareness of key artificial intelligence (AI) tools and models through a series of specialized training programs designed for King Khalid University affiliates, including students, faculty members, and employees interested in integrating generative AI tools into their academic and professional lives.

Dr. Hamid bin Saleh Al-Qahtani, Dean of the Deanship of Electronic Services, emphasized that the "Wiqad" initiative serves as a practical model for adopting emerging technologies that reinforce the culture of digital transformation within the university. It provides essential knowledge on utilizing AI in a modern educational environment.

Dr. Al-Qahtani explained that the initiative contributes to spreading digital literacy within the academic community and supports university students and staff, particularly those interested in AI technologies. He highlighted that the initiative includes advanced training programs covering key technological and AI-related fields, such as Web 4 architecture, emerging technologies, AI development in academia, administrative process automation, task management, and the ethics of AI in education. The initiative will also feature practical workshops aimed at enabling participants to utilize the latest AI tools in the academic learning process, helping prepare qualified individuals to keep pace with rapid advancements in the technology sector.
