University President Attends National Day Celebration Amidst Wide Student Participation

King Khalid University celebrated the 94th Saudi National Day. The event was attended by the Acting President of the university, Prof. Saad bin Mohammed bin Dajam, alongside deans of dental colleges from across the Kingdom who were holding their 39th meeting at the university. As well as a large number of university faculty and students who attended the event.

The Acting President of the university opened the ceremony with a speech expressing feelings of pride and loyalty to the nation. He extended his congratulations to the wise leadership on the occasion of this great national day and emphasized the importance of dedicated and sincere work to achieve national goals and aspirations. He noted that "glory cannot be achieved and goals cannot be realized except through hard work and overcoming challenges," pointing out that Saudi Vision 2030 is the ideal model that should be emulated by all institutions and individuals. He stressed that there is no place for random or improvised work, but rather all efforts must be based on strategic planning and a precise understanding of the objectives.

Bin Dajam added that the Kingdom has given a lot to its citizens and that it is the duty of everyone to be responsible for raising the nation's flag, whether they are students, employees, or in any position. He explained that the responsibility of building the nation rests on everyone's shoulders and that the continuous development of skills and knowledge is an urgent necessity to keep pace with the rapid changes in the world, without abandoning our culture and authentic identity.

The ceremony included a panel discussion titled "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: Depth of Dimensions and Leadership of Roles," organized by the Asir Region History Center, with the participation of a select group of academics and specialists. Among the speakers were Dr. Ali bin Saeed Al-Qahtani, dean of the College of Medicine; Dr. Mohammed bin Ali Al-Qarni, dean of the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies; Dr. Abdulrahman Abdullah Al-Mousa, advisor to the Royal Commission for AlUla Governorate, Dr. Amal Hussein Al-Mushayt, associate professor of geography at the College of Arts and Humanities, and Dr. Ali Awadh Al-Qatb, director of the Asir Region History Center. The panel discussion covered several topics that focused on the Kingdom's strategic depth and its leading role.

The ceremony also included a number of cultural and artistic activities, including poems recited by university faculty and students expressing their love for the kingdom, starting with a poem recited by student Abdulaziz Al-Sariri from the College of Business. Ms. Bushra Al-Shahri from the General Administration of Investment also participated by reciting a poem by the poet Muhannad Al-Faisal, which received widespread media coverage. Poetess Raja bint Salem Al-Ghamdi, a master's student at the College of Arts and Humanities, participated with a poem expressing feelings of love and loyalty to the kingdom. Student Idris Batla from the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, who is a non-native speaker, delivered a distinctive poem expressing his love and appreciation for the Kingdom.

The ceremony concluded with a patriotic operetta titled "Unity of a Nation," with words by the poet Ghanim Al-Qarni, performed by the artist Abdullah Al-Harthi, and with the participation of the folk group "Heritage of the South". The General Administration of Institutional Communication at the university oversaw the implementation of this work. Afterward, the university president and his guests toured the accompanying exhibitions, where they viewed the creative works of students supervised by the Deanship of Student Affairs, expressing their admiration for the high level of the works on display.
