16 Faculties compete in University President's shield for the 1st Cultural Olympiad.

Next Sunday 22/2/1436 AH, the activities of the 1st Cultural Olympiad for students (male and female) of King Khalid University will be launched, and will be held over three days. The university is inviting all students to attend and compete at the awards draws in the closing ceremony, which is sponsored by King Khalid University President Prof. Abdulrahman Hamad Aldawood. The closing ceremony is scheduled to be held on Tuesday of the same week in the University City, Abha, in order to honor the winners of the 1st cultural Olympiad. Awards are worth more than SR250.000.

On this regard, the Dean of Student Affairs of the University Dr. Merrai Saad Al-Habash has declared that the deanship "is allowed to participate in 16 competitive areas including: the recitation of Holy Quran and explanation or commentary on the the Sunnah, cultural competitions, the recitation operetta, poetry, eloquent poetry, classic poetry, community service, documentaries, calligraphy, plastic painting, cartooning, photography, plastic imaging, as well as the digital art (designs), some of which are within the contests of the competitive scientific conference for Higher Education students in the Kingdom". Additionally, the Dean clarified that 16 College participated in the competition, which raised students participation to an active stage that highlighted their effective roles. He underlined that "the big moral return will be on college that will achieve His Excellency the University President's shield for culture and creativity, in addition to being, for a year, the focus of the student activity".

It is noteworthy that the competition was limited to the regular students of the university in the Undergraduate Diplomas stage. Students will be able to participate in a maximum of two areas of competition, but the college can participate in some, or in all areas. Moreover, there are regulations for participation, such as being obliged to the dates of the competition and commitment to Islamic values and university academic controls. The dean stressed that any work that is presented for participation in the competition must to be involved in another contest or won any previous awards, thus ruling out any participation that plagiarized in whole or in part, but what was incorporated to serve the text and the idea.
