The Development and Quality Unit of King Khalid University has conducted a training program which included a study on the "Measure of Anxiety ", which aims at preparing students for the coming examinations. The training program was under the supervision of the Dean of Science and Arts Faculty. It was also under the title "Skills of memory, remembering and overcoming anxiety during examinations". It was presented by Dr. Mona Abdul Wahid, Dr. Carmen Sweilem, and Dr. Hanan Ibrahim.
During the training program, the students were trained on several skills, including information storage and retrieval, ways to enhance memory, and the reasons for oblivion. There was also a diet program, in which students were taught how it helps to raise the concentration ratio and remembrance during the examinations.
At the end of the program, Dr. Carmen Suwaylim applied "Measure of Anxiety" to 105 students from various departments of the University. The results showed that most of anxiety that the students suffer is pre-test, showing that 70% of the students suffer anxiety at this time. Remarkably, the ratio of anxiety decreased when associated with a time limit for the examination to reach 25% of the students. Only 5% did not suffer from anxiety. The results also showed that most cases of test anxiety are accompanied by physiological changes such as nausea, sleeping disorders, eating disorders and stress, nervousness and sweating. 2% of which refers to a sharp rise in the proportion of anxiety, which could be up to the so-called examinations phobia. We have managed to deal individually with these acute cases by directing them to Psychological Specialist who is in the Unit of Psychological Counseling of every college.
