King Khalid University Signs MOU with Fortinet

King Khalid University has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Fortinet, a global leader in broad, integrated, and automated cybersecurity solutions, in conjunction with the launch of the second edition of the Innovation in Education Hackathon. The MOU aims to activate cooperative programs in related fields and develop joint business.
Dr. Hamid bin Saleh Al-Qahtani, Dean of the University's Deanship for Electronic Services explained that the MoU includes a number of important items, including:
Exchange of expertise and consultations: Organizing technical sessions between technical and cybersecurity specialists of both parties to identify the best practices and modern strategies in the field of information technology and cybersecurity.
Formation of specialized teams: To deal immediately with any digital problems or challenges in order to minimize negative effects and ensure business continuity.
Organizing training and development programs: For the working staff in the field of technology and cybersecurity to ensure keeping pace with the latest cybersecurity developments.
Providing a training program: Through Fortinet's Academy, which includes advanced specialized courses in the field of cybersecurity aimed at learning about modern solutions and technologies.
Providing a platform for the exchange of ideas, visions, and experiences: Between the two parties, such as talent development programs and enhancing compatibility with industry best practices.
The signing of the MOU comes as part of the university's efforts to strengthen its partnerships with the public and private sectors to enhance the educational process and prepare qualified graduates to meet the labor market needs. It also reflects the university's keenness to keep pace with the latest developments in the field of technology and information security.
