University Launches Awareness Campaign on Personal Data Protection "Ask First"

His Excellency, the Acting President of King Khalid University, Prof. Saad bin Mohammed bin Dajam, recently inaugurated an awareness campaign under the slogan "Ask First", which was launched by the Data Office at the university, anchoring the university's commitment to promote digital security and personal data protection for staff and students.
The campaign comes in cooperation with the General Administration of Institutional Communication, in addition to the General Administration of Human Resources, represented by the Internal Communication Department, and aims to educate staff and students about the importance of protecting personal data and the need to follow policies and procedures.
During the launch, the Acting President of the University stressed the great importance of this campaign, in light of the rapid technological advancements and the increasing reliance on digital systems today, and stressed the need to adhere to the guidelines and instructions provided through this campaign to ensure the protection of personal data and avoid potential risks.
The Director of the Data Office at the university, Eng. Abdullah Al-Sharafi, said: "Through this campaign, we hope to raise awareness of personal data protection among university staff, in cooperation with our partners from the university. In addition to emphasizing the need to follow preventive measures and the dangers of leniency in this regard."
Al-Sharafi added: "The campaign includes a variety of activities, including interactive workshops, awareness lectures, in addition to providing educational materials through the university's various platforms. Our goal is to provide the necessary guidance on how to manage personal data in a safe and responsible manner”. He explained that the Data Office is here to answer any inquiries or provide technical support to university staff regarding data protection.
