King Khalid University - General Administration of Institutional Communication
King Khalid University ranked fifth in Saudi universities in disability and mental health support according to recent data published by the National Center for Mental Health at its tenth meeting in Riyadh.
The Dean of the Deanship for Students' Affairs, Dr. Ali bin Mosfer Al-Qahtani, explained that King Khalid University is dedicated to providing the support needed for students and members of disability and mental health through specialized programs, admission accommodation, and various academic services. He stressed that the university champions mental health and disability support and aspires to become a leading national figure through its 'University Strategy'.
Al-Qahtani discussed the deanship's Care and Consultation Center, which is a unit dedicated for people who suffer from disabilities or mental health issues. The unit provides care and services to integrate students socially, mentally, and academically.
The unit also provides academic assistance through aligning disabilities with proper teaching methods. As well as adapting curriculum and tests to better suit students' abilities. Other aspects of life on campus are also considered, including culture, social life, and sports.
The unit ensures accessibility requirements are met to accommodate all students. Whether it is medical assistance, safety precautions, transportation services, or providing competent, skilled interrupters for people who suffer from hearing impairment.
