On the sidelines of the International Conference of Media and Rumor

Aldawood and Almalik inaugurate Aljazeera Chair Website.

His Excellency King Khalid University President Prof. Abdulrahman Hamad Aldawood, in the presence of the Chief Editor of Aljazeera Newspaper, Mr. Khalid Almalik inaugurated Aljazeera Chair Website for the Saudi Media. The launching which took place yesterday amidst the attendance of a number of University representatives was at King Khalid University, and on the sidelines of the First International Conference for Media Rumor going on there.

The purpose of establishing a chair for Aljazeera newspaper is to conduct specialized studies, prepare researches, organize workshops, and to hold training courses in various fields for the students of the Media Department of the university, and the Media Professionals in Asir region. It is expected to raise the level of Media performance and practice, in addition to providing Media intellectual and cultural environment, and to create a real partnership with the University, in order to further promote the media work at the university, and the nascent Department of Media.

Aljazeera Chair programs also aims at contributing in helping the Kingdom to occupy a distinct global position in creativity and innovation, research and development, the promotion of community partnership with the university, and optimal investment of human resources in support of national development, the attraction of the best local and international researchers to teach various national competencies, in addition to supporting the scientific publishing industry in specialized periodicals with a global reputation and knowledge of modern technology, providing scientific sessions and workshops that are specialized in needed fields. The Chair also aims at holding regular meetings between the media Professionals and those who work in the scientific and technical specialties to provide common cultural aspects, and to contribute to the development and rehabilitation of journalists and editors.

It is noteworthy that Aljazeera Newspaper chair for the Saudi Media is the first of its kind at King Khalid University that has been established under the umbrella of Media and Communication Department of the Faculty of Humanities.
