Academician from Cairo University asserts: Egyptian media played a confusion role during the Egyptian Revolution.

An academician from faculty of Media of Cairo University, Dr. Fatma Al-Zahra Mohammed Alsayeed has presented a worksheet under the title “the role of the non-professional changes of the Egyptian media in confusing the Egyptian social and political reality in the wake of the January revolution, and in light of the chaos theory". It is noteworthy that the session is being held within the Conference of Media and Rumor, which is currently organized by King Khalid University.

The doctor explained that the worksheet was interested in determining the confusion role played by some of the Egyptian media through non-professional practices, such as launching rumors, which led to the apparent deviation in degrees of faith in some of the principles of the revolution. She said,”I am trying through this study to use chaos theory as a framework for a declaratory of the phenomenon, and the comparison between the impact of rumor on deviation degrees, and thus develop appropriate solutions that will encounter this phenomenon, which has become a source of worry for the whole community within its sects and segments." She also noted that the activities of the conference was effective, through which a number of researchers have brought up many important topics. She said, "I wish all these topics find interest in order to reach the stage of consciousness, and to reach the community whose members are monitors, so that they, themselves, could reject a rumor and prevent its spread." Mrs. Alsayeed thanked the organizers of this event starting from the Organizing Committee, which focused on every detail for a long time and continued to communicate with everyone.
