Forging Stronger International Academic Partnerships
On the 27th of Rabīʿ Al-Awwal, King Khalid University welcomed a delegation from the French diplomatic mission in the Kingdom. Among the honored guests were Health Consultant, Guiam Hoarau, Cultural, Scientific, and University Cooperation Consul, Karim Maatouq, and French Attaché, Adrien Rosie.
The event was officiated by Vice Rector for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Saad Al-Amry, Dean of Scientific Research, Dr. Hamid Al-Qarni, General Director of Scholarships, Dr. Ahmed Al-Amry, and a number of leading university scientific researchers.
Meeting topics included but were not limited to vital functions such as:
- Cooperative postgraduate scholarships in medicine;
- Collaboration with French universities;
- Summer postgraduate programs;
- Arabic as a second language programs.
There was widespread interest among our faculty and students in this program. A large number of teaching assistants attended. Also, based on demand, the entire program was presented via video link to other university campuses.
After introductory remarks by Dr. Ahmed Al-Amry, French Health Consultant Guiam Hoarau delivered a lecture on medical fellowship programs that are available to teaching assistants and lecturers in the medical field. After which, Attaché Rosie spoke about postgraduate programs available in France and then hosted a Q&A session with the attendees.
